It was easy to forget that Darren was undead, just like Jack was. He hadn't yet picked up some of the uncanny agility and strange mannerisms that the older vampires had, plus he was acting like a total wiener. Nonetheless, he was certainly not human any more.
"I wonder if that's what I'm like..." Jack thought, remember how Darren looked drinking his blood, "--well except the acting like a wiener part."

In which Darren accessorizes like a true Greyburn.

       "You look different! But like, good! Helen said you were doing a lot better, I think everyone is gonna be way psyched!"
Darren cringed at the mention of Helen's name.
       "Man, how do you know Helen? "
       "Helen? Oh bro, she's been around forever!"
Darren cringed again. Paolo noticed Jack's goggle eyed staring.
       "Oh sorry dude! I'm Paolo, I was the bassist for the Belfries. I like to think I brought a chronic jazz-metal groove to the mix, but it was all Darren's work that hooked the kids. People are saying post-math janglecore is dead now but I think-- "
Jack looked to Darren with a serious stare and whispered inaudibly, "This is really bad..."
       "I know! Once this dork gets going there's no stopping him."
Paolo continued, "--It's like when Princess Steve split... man I never got to hear 'Genital Manipulators' live--"
       "Not what I meant," Jack whispered, "but I get what you're saying."

Ugh this page took forever. It's 5 row pages until the end nearly, so I can end the chapter on time. Sigh.
If you're wondering who beardy at the bottom is, why it's Paolo from this comic three months ago! Chris usually draws him, but I traced one of his old one drawings, bwahaha. I'm no good at drawing beards.

JACK : What’s wrong with you? You’re a vampire, get over it.

DARREN: N-no... I’m not a monster...

JACK: You don’t have to be a monster. Any more than you already were, anyway.

JACK: Just do this and they’ll leave you alone. Plus, um, if you practice, maybe you can kill everyone.

JACK: It’s like Monkey Adventure, you gotta like, level up.

DARREN : Yes.

DARREN: You’ll help me?!

JACK: Uh... I guess.

VITUS: How was it?

JACK: Real special.

VITUS : I‘ve got my will back, ready for advanced lessons?

JACK: After I do all the work? Sheesh.

VITUS: Now, slower.

JACK: That doesn’t help..

VITUS: Um, try harder.

VITUS: Try harder.

VITUS: Try ha--

JACK: I think he’s freaking out!

VITUS: Oh darn.

DARREN: What are we doing?

JACK: Getting blood.

PAOLO: Darren! Man, is that you? So cool you’re back on the scene!

PAOLO: ...Is that a leaf in your hair, bro?

DARREN: ...So it is.
