Karl scrambled for his phone, the screen a cobweb of cracks. Best case scenario it's just another thing for the coworkers to poke fun at! They'll think he did it on purpose! Poor Karl and his cracked phone, only it really is poor Karl and his cracked phone! Plus he could be a little embarrassed about standing around naked in a cool criminal's apartment on the verge of tears over his four year old phone. Last gen! Oh god, how much does a new gen phone cost? Do they even make these ones anymore? He'd have to learn a new interface! NO!

Karl shuddered under the blanket as Jack had an inscrutable phone conversation. He didn't just dream that. Something with the phone and then that weird hypnotist act and being dumped on the couch. Was it a joke? Did Jack think he had some new-age mind-control powers? Karl would find it silly if he wasn't barely able to restrain himself from bolting in terror. Really, he should be totally calm. Nothing strange happened-- NO!
