(Demetri begins his defense, Jack is in the blurred background, raising an eyebrow.)

(Jack comes into focus, leaning forward and looking startled.)

DEMETRI: More importantly, what do you hope to accomplish?

(Jack steps back with a freaked out face.)

(Demetri glances back at the frozen Jack, not feeling like dealing with this scene any more.)

DEMETRI: Hello? Eh.... Uh, Jack? Maybe... you can handle this one?

(Demetri steps behind Karl who begins to approach Jack. He gestures for Jack to 'call him.' )

KARL: Jack!? You-- Oh my God.. Really!?

DEMETRI: Call me

(Karl continues to approach as Demetri turns into a bat right behind him, flapping away.)

KARL: Wh- I.. Jack Ballard? You-- I didn’t... Oh..

(Jack steps back as Karl approaches.)

(Karl tries to get Jack to talk to him, Jack keeps stepping back.)

(Jack looks back to a streetlight which suddenly goes out with a 'FZZT', the alley becomes dark and Karl tries to stop him.)

KARL: Wait...!
