Jack was perhaps better at egress than Demetri would have guessed. He threw himself through the cathedral, away from the wretched screaming, painfully slamming into walls like a moth beating its body against a window. He shoved his way through the sparse crowd of tired goths and began mindlessly marching away, his senses returning but providing little relief to his panic.
Before Demetri had arrived, Jack had pleasantly numbed his mind by counting, something he'd done since he was a small child. Living creatures and beer cans were at an even count before he was interrupted, losing all peace at the same time.
That banana bread was great. I wanted to apologize that these comics are coming late in the day for people not on PST time.. (I'm in Seattle.) Finals are over so that should be remedied soon. <3
