Florence and Inka put away the spirit board. It was too disturbing tonight, in light of recent events and that downpour outside. They decided to just make it a relaxing rainy night, reading and listening to the water spattering against the windows. Florence was unsettled though, she kept looking to the window uncomfortably.
"Dear, don't worry... Remember, no one but you and I are invited here, he can't step a foot inside." Inka said.
Florence shook her head, "I know, it's not that ... I feel bad for Sarah."
"Oh yes, that poor dear. Truly this bastard-man is a wolf, preying on the weak. Terrible."
"Not just that... No one cares, because they don't like her. Like me."
Inka put on her best mother voice, "Don't say that! Everyone likes you darling. You know your brother loves you."
"Thierry just talks to me when he wants to brag about something and no one else will listen."
"Come now, if you are apart, so am I. People can't understand us. Because we are in tune with the spirits, it makes us different. Ohh you poor thing. I shelter you too much. Listen, there is no reason to not like you! You are beautiful, intelligent, and a wonderful singer!"
"Uh huh, that sure gets me invited to parties."
"Your mother will always be your friend!"
"...Also a big invitation getter..." |
