CHAPTER 10 - PAGE 13

(Transcript and visual captions below}

Minchin had Jack in his grip once again, but something about it felt different. Before, it had been like the unbreakable steel grip of a poison demon. Now it felt like that of a skinny high school bully, and the toxic effect like something he could weather with gritted teeth...

Not that he intended to.

In which Minchin busts a move.

    "Aww yeah, you know what it is!"
Jack didn't seem as impressed. "Do I?"
    "Didja see the way he ran? Oh man, he won't fuck with you again. Just... Dude."
    "Dude?"
    "Is that not a reasonable sentence where you come from?"

Why did I think it was a good idea to have black creatures in a forest at night? :P

            TRANSCRIPT: This is the text of the comic, for purposes such as translation and internet searches.

1.)

(The view from behind Jack's head, as Minchin holds it between his hands.)

MINCHIN: Well sport, looks like-- hey!

2.)

(Suddenly, Minchin has a disappointed face, and Jack's head has transformed into little black lizards that slip through his fingers.)

3.)

(From Minchin's point of view, we see that the falling lizards have cleared the way for Darren to take his shots.)

4.)

   (Darren is blasting on Minchin with both guns - and this time he's hitting. Little drops of blood spray hang
   in the air. Lizard pile Jack has slipped through Minchin's overgrown crow legs and is reassembling into a
Sombreta-styled monster. He has a black fuzzy body with bird talons, and large white eyes on a lizard-like face.
)

DARREN: Yeah!

5.)

(Jack has risen to his full height behind Minchin, and Darren stops firing with his friend in the way. We see Jack's monster form also has long eyelashes, feather-like hair, and flight feathers growing out of his back without the framework of wings beneath. Still, he is beginning to look more human again, with a nose on his previously lizard-like face. He is grabbing the clown monster from behind.)

6.)

(Jack's back has returned to its red flannel-clad appearance, his skin lightened, and he is slapping Minchin around with a clawed left hand.)

7.)

(Minchin's own monster features have diminished to almost nothing, as Jack throws him through the air.)

8.)

(Minchin winces in pain as he tumbles to the ground.)

9.)

(Jack and Darren are still off balance in the moment, getting ready for the next move, not knowing what to expect. Jack is a bit
monstered out, Darren has his guns up, and both have faces smeared with blood from Minchin's moves in the previous comic.
)

10.)

(Minchin throws his hands up in a defensive posture and looks frantic, with big sparkling eyes.)

MINCHIN: No more! Ya got me!

11.)

(Jack and Darren are annoyed and flummoxed by Minchin, as he flails on the ground like a child.)

MINCHIN: Oh ya got me good! Bluh uh bluh!

12.)

(Suddenly, Darren's guns are up again. Minchin has transformed into three crows!)

DARREN: He’s bustin’ a move!

13.)

(One crow flaps defensively as it dodges Darren's bullets.)

CROW 1: Well I never!

14.)

(The other crows are on the ground for the moment, and look as nervous as a crow can.)

CROW 2: Yipes! Let’s scram!

CROW 3: Ya don’t hafta tell me twice!

15.)

(View from behind Jack and Darren. Darren blasts on the crows ineffectually as they fly off in three directions.)

JACK: Really?

16.)

(Darren looks triumphant, waving his guns in the air. Jack looks confused, no longer monsterish, and his shoulders are slumped.)

JACK: Uhm. That was... strange.
