(Jack is being one hand strangled by the masked killer dude, eyes wide in surprise.)

JACK: What the hell are you?!

(Jack has been flung from the porch and lands on his bloodied back with a wince.)

3.)

(Karl grabs for a weapon - the fireplace poker - while Jack continues his cranky complaints from the fight scene outside.)

JACK: (from off panel) Seriously! What are you?!

4.)

(The killer has his axe back and is trying to bring it down on Jack, who is holding it at bay with some effort.)

JACK: This shouldn't be so hard!

5.)

(Jack has wrested the axe free and drops it, smiling.)

JACK: But not impossible!

6.)

(Karl has come out, wielding the poker, hoping to defend his man.)

KARL: (to Jack) Hey- stay back!

7.)

(The killer is grabbing Jack by the shirt with one hand and grabbing the poker from Karl with the other. Both look shocked.)

KARL: I'll-

8.)

(The killer holds Jack aloft with one hand and pins him to the tree with the poker. Jack is still surprised at his foe's might.)

JACK IMPALEMENT: SHK

KARL: (off panel) NO!!
